Guidelines for the Florida Delegation
The Republic of Florida Congress will serve as the legitimate and authentic voice for all Floridians in determining their own destiny -- as Floridians. It is intended to provide a representative public forum for Floridians to come together and collectively seek redress of their grievances and advance their goals and their interests. It will represent the aspirations and the welfare of the people of Florida in a manner that the two major political parties and today’s politics are neither willing nor capable of doing.
The Republic of Florida Congress is a deliberative body designed to provide Floridians with a forum to voice their authentic concerns regarding the South’s continued cultural life, prosperity, and distinctive existence. The Florida Congress provides a means of expressing Southern goals, grievances, and solutions, in an open manner not presently existing anywhere else in the public sphere. The Congress exists as a forum to debate and resolve practical matters respecting life in the South.
Qualifications for Delegates
The Southern National Congress was created in March 2005 as a means for Southerners in the thirteen states of Dixie to withdraw their consent and willing support from the current regime in Washington, D.C. and is therefore a Southern event. In keeping with the SNC’s commitment to State sovereignty, Florida will take part in this assembly through the formation of the Florida Congress.
Based on Biblical and Southern Principles as well as those of the founding fathers of our original Union, the requirements for membership in the Florida delegation may be more restrictive than those of the SNC itself or of other member states. Individuals who do not meet the below stated qualifications may apply to join the Florida delegation as a non-voting Associate member in an advisory capacity. Associate members may participate in all discussions and meetings and may attend the Congressional sessions in an observer capacity.
Any lawful male citizen of Florida, who has attained the age of twenty-five years, having resided herein for a period of not less than ten continuous years, desiring to be a delegate of this Congress, or wishing to vote for delegates, and willing to make the affirmations shown below, is welcome to seek participation in the Florida Delegation. Delegates will be chosen by the State Committee and must be willing to affirm the following:
Whether an Associate Member or a seated Delegate of the RFC, active participation in the liberation of Florida and the affairs of the Southern National Congress is strongly encouraged.
Reference has been made above to Southerners and Southern People. Understanding that there may be some discussion as to whom may be included in these descriptions, a guide has been furnished for the convenience of those considering becoming a part of this Congress: Delegates and Associates must be willing to avow these principles:
Southern people, or Southrons, believe that Southern culture is distinct from, and in opposition to, the corrupt mainstream secular culture. Therefore, they stand for their own sublime cultural inheritance, and seek to separate themselves from the cultural rot that is so prevalent in today's society.
They believe that Southern culture still reveres the tenets of our historic Christian faith and acknowledges its supremacy over manmade laws and opinions.
They believe that our strongest and most enduring earthly affections and allegiances are to those people and places closest to us: family, friends, neighbors, villages, towns, cities, counties, and States".
They believe that Southern artists, writers, poets, musicians, and playwrights have produced world-class works of art and literature. Such endeavors must be nurtured and preserved for future generations of Southerners.
They believe that Southerners are a people bound closely to the land. It is more than just a resource for production; it is who we are. It defines both our character and our worldview.
They believe that Southerners have respect for human life, in all its stages, as a gift from God. Life should be preserved, nurtured, and protected.
Southern people assert that Southern society is radically different from the society impressed upon it by an alien occupier. American society today is egalitarian and Marxist, and is devoid of any grace or charm.
In contrast...Southern People believe in a society, that upholds the ontological or spiritual equality of all men before God, and the bar of justice, while recognizing and rejoicing in the fact that is has neither been the will of God Almighty, nor within the power of human legislation to make any two men mechanically equal.
They believe in a Southern society that is structured upon the Biblical notion of hierarchy. In short, a recognition of the natural societal order of superiors and subordinates, where Christian charity, (as found in the second Table of the Law), toward our neighbors, produces harmony and stability. Christ is the head of His Church; husbands are the heads of their families; parents are placed over their children; employers rank above their employees; the teacher is superior to his students, etc.
They believe in a Southern society that recognizes and promotes the sanctity of Christian marriage, as an image of the relationship between Christ and His Church; understands that loving and stable families are the backbone of society; stigmatizes perversity, and all that seeks to undermine marriage and the family.
They believe in a Southern society that teaches and practices good manners, and in the famed "Southern hospitality, which are outward manifestations of the recognition that our fellow men are made in the image of God, and should be treated according to God's law.
They believe in a Southern society that perpetuates the chivalric ideal of manhood: respect for, and protection of, our women, and the development of the virtues of honesty, courage, honor, and humility.
They believe in a Southern society that values and sustains true freedom of association for individuals, families, organizations, and other human institutions.
They believe in a Southern society that believes in the rule of law, and the wise, benevolent, and righteous application of justice by ecclesiastical and civil authorities.
The political ideals and principles of the Southern people are rooted in the Jeffersonian tradition as expressed in the Declaration of Independence of our States. Namely, that our unalienable rights are a gift from God, not privileges that are granted or denied by any governmental authority; that a truly free people has the right and power to determine its own form of government; that governmental power should reside as close to the people as possible, and that competing governmental bodies should have meaningful checks on one another's use of power. Another certainty is that the current federal Empire that now occupies our Southland believes in none of the aforementioned ideals and principles. To be truly free and self-governing, the Southern people must throw off the yoke of imperial oppression.
Southern people envision a free Southern republic that is a true constitutional confederation of sovereign, independent States who separately order and control their own internal affairs while working in unity with their sister States to conduct foreign affairs.
A free Southern republic that recognizes State representation in the legislature of the confederated States, and acknowledges that the individual States have constitutional rights of nullification, interposition, and secession.
A free Southern republic that practices a foreign policy of armed and vigilant neutrality, (i.e., commerce and friendship with all, entangling alliances with none).
A free Southern republic that maintains secure borders and strictly limits immigration.
A free Southern republic that revives the use of State Militias, in place of maintaining large, standing armies.
A free Southern republic that does not infringe upon the individual or collective right to purchase and own firearms of any type.
A free Southern republic that restricts the privilege to vote solely to those who are recognized as citizens of one of the member States of the confederation.
We therefore invite the Southern people of our Great Republic to join the Florida Congress and help restore liberty to our beautiful land. To apply to become a Delegate from Florida click here.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.
What is liberty without wisdom and without virtue?
